Everyone knows it smokes when it's burning. But what do you really know about what the smoke contains and how different fire processes affect the smoke? And how do the particles in the smoke affect the rescue personnel who are first on site when a fire is to be fought. Researchers at LTH have in a unique experiment together with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) carried out measurements where the smoke has been studied in detail in fires in realistic environments.
