The beginning of November in Lithuanian culture is associated with remembering and honouring the dead. This is the time when, according to the tradition, people visit graves and light candles.
In every community, there are many people who have passed away and whom we want to remember with a good word, to honour with a minute’s silence, and to light a memorial candle for.
Inspired by the "River of Souls", which has been organised in the city centre for many years, we invite all students, teachers, and the entire University community to participate in the "Memorial Lights" event.
Please bring a candle and light the memorial lights for all the dead members of the University community that we keep in our memory, for the departed loved ones, and also for those who are no longer remembered by anyone.
Together, we will create an improvised river, a lake, or maybe even a sea of lights.
Let no one be forgotten.
Time of the event: 3 November, 18.30-20.00.
Place of the event: M. Jankaus St. square in front of the Department of Languages and Education (M. Jankaus St. 2)
The organisers of the campaign: LSMU Department of Languhages and Education
