International summer school UM Solution Design 2021


The basic goal of the summer school is to connect the university environment with the local one and transfer new knowledge to the economy.

Between 5 and 17 September 2021, the University of Maribor is organizing the International Summer School Solution Design 2021 entitled “ The value of Waste! «( Value of waste ). This year's theme is related to the issue of waste of all types and finding a solution for their efficient management. The basic goal of the summer school is to connect the university, study environment with the local one and to transfer new knowledge and solutions to the local economy. The summer school, which will take place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Architecture (Krekova ulica 2, Maribor), will be attended by approximately 25 students from 8 different countries. 

The purpose of the summer school is to encourage participants to think holistically and interdisciplinary in designing complex solutions, from problem identification, search for possible alternatives, evaluation, all the way to implementation. Participants learn about methods and tools on an ongoing basis, all based on participation in an interdisciplinary team. With the theme of "value waste" is to emphasize the importance of sustainable approaches, a more comprehensive understanding of the design solution and to enhance awareness of the interconnectedness and interdependence ", emphasizes doc. dr. Nenad ?uš Babi?, content manager of the International Summer School Solution Design 2021.

The Solution Design 2021 Summer School is supported by the CEEPUS program; Energetika Maribor doo, Gorenje Surovina, company for waste processing doo and Snaga, company for waste management and other communal services, too.

The CEEPUS program is a Central European exchange program for students and professors. The aim of the program is to establish and promote the mobility of students and professors between the participating countries and to take advantage of friendly connections and opportunities to design joint study programs.
