The government has indicated that it could halve the number of Afghan Chevening scholars in the UK, while female education remains banned in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.In a meeting with Afghan Chevening alumni on June 4, the UK Foreign Commonwealth Development Office discussed halving the number of places for Afghan students to approximately 10, according to Chevening alumni who attended the meeting.
