Only a month ago, SchengenVisaInfo.com reported that ETIAS won’t become operational in 2024, and just now, the Council of the European Union confirmed that the ETIAS launch date has been officially postponed for 2025.

According to the Council, the ETIAS will go live in spring 2025, with the authorities not specifying a month, but possibly in May, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

In addition, the Council confirmed that the Entry/Exit System (EES), which has been continuously postponed alongside ETIAS, won’t become operational until autumn 2024.
