The European Commission has proposed to abolish visa requirements for Serbian citizens living in Kosovo who hold passports issued in Serbia, following the EU’s decision to allow Kosovars to travel visa-free for short-term stays from January 1, 2024.
The Commission proposed to amend Regulation (EU) 2018/1806 to exempt holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate from visa requirements, arguing that there is no longer any reason for which holders of Serbian passports residing in Kosovo cannot travel visa-free to EU’s borderless area of Schengen, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
