The University Chancellor's Office (UKA) has announced that Uppsala University's system for quality assurance of education at all levels has received the highest rating "approved quality assurance work".

- This is first and foremost a proof that we have a quality system for education that works. It's really gratifying. Of course, this does not mean that we can settle down, or that it is perfect in all parts. But it shows that our way of ensuring the quality of our educations inspires confidence in external review, says Principal Anders Hagfeldt.

Formally, each higher education institution and UKA has a joint responsibility for ensuring that the higher education institution's educations are of high quality. The higher education institutions design their own quality assurance systems and UKA ensures that the university's quality assurance work fulfills the function it is to perform. In the current university review that UKA has provided information on, the quality assurance system for education, including postgraduate education, is in focus.

UKA has given Uppsala University's quality assurance system a grade of approved quality assurance work. The university review can result in one of three assessments: approved quality assurance work, approved quality assurance work with reservations or questioned quality assurance work.
