Lecturers of Riga Technical University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University will start in-service training in engineering pedagogy and STEM didactics at the Estonian Center for Engineering Pedagogy from 08.09.2021. The aim of the in-service training is to open IGIP- accredited engineering pedagogy centers at these technical universities.

The precondition for opening an IGIP engineering pedagogy center is that at least 4 lecturers of the university have completed training in engineering pedagogy at an IGIP accredited center.

The Estonian Center for Engineering Pedagogy is internationally accredited and has the right to conduct international trainings in engineering pedagogy and STEM didactics.

After completing in-service training, the Estonian Center for Engineering Pedagogy will continue to offer support to both universities in establishing an engineering pedagogy center, applying for IGIP accreditation and mentoring lecturers.

Continuing education takes place online and lasts one semester. During the semester, the participating lecturers compile their portfolios and teaching philosophies. Continuing education and subject curricula of both universities are being prepared for the training of engineering teachers together with modern methodology.
